Delta Digital Team,

These are samples for the Food Photography position at Budget Bytes.

A little about me- I’ve been working as a commercial photographer for over 30 years, with an emphasis in food, restaurants, and hospitality.

For the last ten years, I’ve worked with Honolulu Cookie Company, Hawaii’s premier cookie brand. We have assignments throughout the year photographing their holiday and seasonal products. On most of these productions, I manage set design and food styling.

I’ve also photographed over 20 issues of recipe booklets for KTA Grocery Stores.

And notably, I photographed Chef Alan Wong’s cookbook, The Blue Tomato. It won the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Cookbook Award.

Almost all of my photos are captured using Fujifilm medium format digital, with tilt-shift lenses, tethered to an MacBook Pro. For faster shooting, I have a complete Nikon camera system for still and video capture. I also have a full studio lighting kit.

I’ve worked my entire career successfully as a freelancer. However, I’d like to transition to being on staff at a company where I can enjoy challenging projects. I’d like to be a part of a team that produces extraordinary work- efficiently.

About a year ago my wife and I decided that we’d like to move to Tennessee. We didn’t set a timeline, but we love the state so much that we’ve already purchased real estate there. This position at Budget Bytes aligns with our goal of living in Volunteer State!

Thanks for your consideration. I look forward to talking to you more about this opportunity!

Aloha,
David Murphey
